Safeway in North Bend was closed Thursday, April 25, after an accidental oil fire in the Deli Section of the 24-hour store on Virginia Ave. According to reports, an employee left a Wok with oil in it unattended. It caught fire about 12:40 p.m. Firefighters from both North Bend & Coos Bay were summoned to the scene. The fire was contained to the kitchen area, but reportedly spread to the roof. While the store reopened Friday, the Deli remains closed.
