Some prep Oregonians are competing in this week’s World Athletics U20 Track & Field Championships in Columbia. Lake Oswego junior sprinter Mia Brahe-Pederson, Oregon’s 6A champion, advanced to the semi-finals of the 100 Wednesday by winning her heat in 11.45 seconds. Nigeria Tima Seikeseye Godbless had the top time at 11.09, and Shawnti Jackson had the top American time at 11.28. The 100 semi-finals are at 2:05 p.m., and the finals are set for 4:35 p.m. Brahe-Pedersen is also competing in the 200 which is scheduled to begin Thursday. Cascade high jumper Emma Gates is scheduled to compete on Thursday at 2:12 p.m.
