Youth Suicide Prevention, Sept. 5

Did you know that in Oregon suicide is currently the first leading cause of death for youth ages 10-14 years old and the second leading cause of death for those ages 15-24 years old? Experts believe that most suicidal individuals do not want to die. They just want to end the pain they are experiencing. If you feel that someone is at a high risk for suicide, do not leave the person alone; seek help! Call 911, take him/her to the nearest hospital emergency room or call the Crisis Line at 541-751-2550. September 5th through September 11th is National Suicide Prevention Week. Please join Coos Health & Wellness and the For Youth By Youth Coalition in supporting suicide prevention. Together we can reduce the number of lives shaken by a needless and tragic death.
