Nominations are open for the 2020 Zonta Celebrity to be honored at the upcoming 22nd Annual Zonta Celebrity Dinner & Auction on February 29, 2020. The Celebrity Dinner is hosted by the Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area. The Zonta Celebrity can be either female or male, is a resident of Coos County and is selected for their contributions to Coos County and beyond. Additional criteria includes: • Elevated and improved the status of women and/or girls; • Helped open doors for women, girls and the general society; • Made significant and enduring contributions to their field, whether professional or volunteer; • Made improvements to the cultural, economic, political or social status of the Coos County community or the state of Oregon; • Are inspirational role models. Nomination form and list of previous Zonta Celebrities is available on the club website zontacoosbay.org. Submission deadline is December 18, 2019. The 2020 winner will be elected by club vote and presented with their award at the Zonta Celebrity Dinner and Auction, February 29, 2020. The 2020 theme is Zonta’s Celebrity Prom- Leap Back in Time with Zonta. The Zonta Celebrity Dinner and Auction is the club’s largest fundraiser complete with dinner, live and silent auction followed by dancing with DJ Daryl Elkin’s. This fundraiser supports local and international scholarships for women, grants to local non-profits, the Little Red School House School supply program as well as Zonta International service projects.
