Oregon hits the road for five games this week as the Ducks visit UC Riverside on Tuesday and Wednesday in a two-game non-league series before heading to Tucson for the first time in three years to play Arizona in a three-game Pac-12 series. UCR enters this week’s games against Oregon with a 10-13 record. The Highlanders were swept in a three-game series in Eugene last season. Oregon will then visit Arizona for the first time since the 2012 season. The Ducks swept the Wildcats in Eugene each of the last two seasons. The last time UO played at Arizona, Oregon won two of three. The Wildcats went on to win the national championship that season.

The No. 2 ranked Oregon softball team used a six-run fourth inning and a five-run seventh to put away Utah and sweep the series with a 12-0 win on Monday afternoon. Cheridan Hawkins picked up the shutout and the win after allowing just two hits. The Ducks improved to 26-3 (6-0 Pac-12) with the sweep while the Utes slipped to 20-12 (0-6). Oregon has beaten Utah 16 straight times and the Ducks have swept their first two Pac-12 foes of the season. Oregon returns home for a doubleheader against Utah Valley on Wednesday. First pitch is 4 p.m. A three-game home series with Washington follows on Friday.

The Oregon State softball team (22-9, 3-3) completed the series sweep Monday afternoon against the Stanford Cardinal (14-17, 0-3). The game was shortened due to rain with the Beavers taking the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning at 5-3 just before the umpires decided that play could not continue. Oregon State will return to the field Friday, March 7 when they travel south to Berkeley, California to face the #12 California for a weekend series.

Oregon State freshman Drew Rasmussen was named the Pac-12 Conference’s Pitcher of the Week on Monday, just two days after throwing the first perfect game in school history. Rasmussen retired all 27 batters he faced in Oregon State’s 3-0 win Saturday, which helped the Beavers to their first sweep of the Cougars since 2006. He struck out 10, got to a three-ball count twice and needed just 103 pitches to complete his day.
