White Lane, North Bend, CCSO release – On 01-23-19 at approximately 0605 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 93724 White Lane in North Bend for a reported Stabbing. When Deputies and fire personnel from Hauser Fire arrived they found Eric Steven Woodworth 39 Yoa of North Bend, laying on the front porch. Mr. Woodworth was pronounced deceased. The Coos County Major Crimes Team was activated and personnel from Coos County District Attorney’s Office, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Coquille Tribal Police, Oregon State Police, North Bend Police and SCINT responded and conducted an investigation. During the course of the investigation it was determined Mr. Woodworth had kicked in the front door of the residence. One of the residents, Trisha L. Stark 42 YOA of North Bend, said Mr. Woodworth was an ex-boyfriend she had recently ended a relationship with. When Mr. Woodworth kicked in the front door, Mr. Woodworth charged Anthony J. Caldron, (Trisha Starks son) 18YOA from North Bend, who was armed with a knife. Mr. Woodworth sustained one fatal stab wound to the chest during the altercation with Caldron. There were three other adults and 2 children in the residence, no other injuries were reported at the time of the incident. Although an investigation is still active, the case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for review. No arrest have been made as the current information appears to be a matter of self-defense or defense of another person.
