North Bend’s football team fell in the OSAA 4A semi-finals 37-21 to Scappoose at Cottage Grove Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs finish with an 8-3 record, their fourth straight appearance in the state semi-finals, and a Far West League title for the fourth year-in-a-row. Scappoose advances to the finals to play Cascade for a second time this season. The Cougars are the only team to beat Scappoose this year, 47-34, in the season opener for both teams at Turner. In other finals this weekend, Summit and Ashland meet for a second time this season, but this time in the 5A final as both won semi-final games Saturday in Grants Pass. The Grizzlies won the first meeting 15-14 at Ashland. Defending 3A champion Vale plays Santiam Christian for the 3A crown, Heppner meets Kennedy for the 2A title and Dufur and Crane meet for the 1A championship. The 6A schools are in the semi-finals this weekend with Jesuit playing Sheldon for a second time this year. The Crusaders won the first game in Eugene. The other semi-final has West Linn and Sherwood.
