Hit & Run
The operator of a vehicle that struck a building and then left the accident scene Feb. 8, 3:24 p.m. at Cape Arago Hwy. and Roosevelt Road, “disavowed any knowledge of striking the building and claimed to have thought he had only struck a post.” According to an Oregon State Police report, 44-year old Corydon Ray Wheeler, Coos Bay, was westbound when his vehicle reportedly lost traction and fish-tailed around a corner. The vehicle crossed Roosevelt Road and went through a rope/post fence, striking a fence post with the passenger side. The driver front corner then struck the side of the building, caving in the concrete structure and breaking the window. After bouncing off the building, the vehicle continued past the building into the parking lot. The operator then continued driving south on Roosevelt Road until reaching his residence.”

DUII
The driver of a red Honda Civic CRX was stopped Feb. 11, 12:07 a.m., between 11th St. & Virginia Ave. in North Bend for several moving violations. According to an OSP report, 52-year old Ramona Matthews, North Bend, “exhibited signs and symptoms of impairment.” She consented to and failed a Field Sobriety Test. Matthews was placed into custody for DUII and transported to the North Bend Police Department for a breath sample. Her vehicle was towed. Matthews was cited and released to her adult daughter.

Warrant
A male contacted for a pedestrian violation at Virginia and Sherman in North Bend Feb. 12, 10:06 a.m., resulted in an arrest. According to an OSP report, “a standard records check revealed a statewide felony warrant out of North Bend Police Department.” Thirty-two year old Bryan A. Bailey was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.
