Salem Police Detectives have arrested two suspects in the death of a subject in South Salem on the evening of May 20. Salem Police were called to a residence in the 2000 block of Robins Ln SE at approximately 9:19 pm on a report of a physical altercation at that location. When officers arrived, they found 26-year old Todd Federico lying unconscious and not breathing on the floor of the residence. Officers immediately began CPR and continued until relieved by medic units, who eventually declared Federico deceased. Salem Police Detectives responded to the scene and have since arrested 56-year old William Toressa of Prineville and 32-year old Joshua Johnson of Lyons on charges of Criminally Negligent Homicide and Manslaughter in the Second Degree. Both were transported to the Marion County Correctional Facility and booked. Arraignment for both suspects is set for May 22 at 3:00pm at the Marion County Annex located at 4000 Aumsville Hwy SE. The investigation is continuing and there are no further suspects outstanding at this time.
