19th Annual Eagle Watch in Central Oregon, Feb. 21

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD), Portland General Electric (PGE), and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will host the 19th annual Eagle Watch Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 at Round Butte Overlook Park and The Cove Palisades State Park in central Oregon. The annual celebration honors the eagles and other raptors that call the Lake Billy Chinook area home and features a wide variety of activities designed to explore the natural and cultural significance of the birds. Round Butte Overlook Park’s visitor center, located 10 miles west of Madras, is the starting point for visitors. There, an “Eagle Village” will feature displays and presentations by regional birds-of-prey experts as well as kids’ crafts and prize drawings from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
