CBFD release – December 10, 2018 – Just before 2:00 A.M., Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on North 19th street in Coos Bay for a report of thick, black smoke coming from the rear of the residence. Upon arriving, firefighters made entry into the house and located the fire in a rear bathroom. Although the fire was extinguished in just a few minutes, firefighters remained on scene for almost an hour and a half ventilating smoke out of the home and conducting an investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire. After an investigation, the cause of the fire has been ruled as accidental. No injuries were reported. Coos Bay Fire Department was assisted on scene by Coos Bay Police Department and Bay Cities Ambulance.
