An anonymous donor has pledged $20 million to Oregon State University’s $50 million expansion project at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. HMSC officials are planning to build a 100,000 square foot Marine Studies building at its campus on Yaquina Bay’s South Beach. Construction of the two-story complex is scheduled to begin in two years.
