3rd Release on Perkins, Aug. 18

According to a news release from Coos Co. DA R. Paul Frasier, Aug. 17, (5:22 p.m.), “Based upon information developed by investigator since the discovery of the body of Richard Perkins at 63368 Ross Inlet Road, Coos Bay on August 14, 2016, including information provided to me this afternoon, I have filed a District Attorney’s Information with the Coos County Circuit Court formally charging Lucas Mark Perkins with the offense of Murder. A warrant has been issued for his arrest with security set at $2,000,000.” Frasier goes on to state that he “will ask that Mr. Perkins be extradited back to Coos county on the charge of Murder.” He also added, “As a point of reference, this office has been receiving phone calls from persons indicating that their name is Richard Perkins and that apparently people have assumed that they are the victim in this case. One person has complained that his sister has been receiving flowers and sympathy cards thinking her brother was the victim in thie case. It would be helpful to these people if the press in referring to the victim in this case.
