The Oregon Employment Department recently completed year-end revisions based on more current payroll tax and other administrative records. In 2014, Coos County payroll employment fell by 50 jobs, or 0.5 percent. This was slightly weaker than previously estimated growth of 70 jobs in 2014. It’s been a slow and bumpy recovery from the deep recession in Coos County, with jobs added in two of the past four years. Curry County annual average payroll growth was revised slightly upwards, but still remained in negative territory from the 2013 annual average totals. Curry County payroll employment was revised from a decline of 140 jobs to a drop of 110, based on the 2014 benchmark revisions.
