USCG Housing Project at Astoria, April 8

A ground breaking ceremony was held Monday, April 6, on the North Oregon Coast for a new housing project for the U.S. Coast Guard. The housing project is projected to cost approximately $9 million and will reportedly improve existing infrastructure and provide 12 new homes to the existing Coast Guard neighborhood. The original housing units were built in 1995 and the new units will match the same style but allow for modern updates. The 12 additional units will be part of the 120 homes already housing Coast Guard members.
