Defending champion North Bend will play Marshfield for the 2015 Far West League football title Friday night at Vic Adams Field in North Bend. The two Bay Area Rivals both won their home games last Friday night to set up the showdown between the league’s two unbeaten teams. North Bend beat Brookings-Harbor 47-7, while over the hill to the south, the Pirates downed South Umpqua 50-6 at Pete Susick Stadium. Third place Siuslaw beat visiting Douglas 42-20 in Florence. Along with the Pirates (3-0, 6-1) at the Bulldogs (4-0, 5-2) this week, Siuslaw (2-2, 5-2) finishes the regular season at Brookings-Harbor (1-3, 2-5), and South Umpqua (1-3, 2-5) plays at Douglas (0-3, 1-5).

MHS VB Tourney
Marshfield’s volleyball team went 6-0 at its own tournament Saturday in Coos Bay. The Lady Pirates (21-0) beat Ashland 2-0 (25-15, 25-20), beat Tillamook 2-1 (20-25, 25-16, 15-5), beat Henley 2-0 (28-26, 25-20), beat Junction City 2-0 (25-16, 25-16), beat Phoenix 2-0 (25-7, 25-6), and beat Myrtle Pt. 2-0 (25-14, 25-17). Marshfield next plays at Sheldon in Eugene on Monday, Oct. 26, 5 p.m.
