Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today, noon. The Bulldogs will gather at the high school’s Hall of Champions, while the Pirate faithful meet at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay. Both meetings are open to those interested in local Bay Area prep sports.
NBHS Bowling
After 30 games of qualifying the North Bend Boys Bowling team finished second. During the ten semi- championship games, the Bulldogs finished fourth at District, and just missed a chance to go the state tournament. Siuslaw got the last spot by 28 pins over North Bend. The Bulldogs Cameron Hartley was named to the Second Team All-Stars and Dillon Woodworth was named to the First Team All-Stars and District Finals First Team All-Stars.
MHS cheer
Marshfield’s cheer team placed first in their division last Saturday at a cheer competition at David Douglas High School near Portland. The Pirate cheerleaders were fourth overall for all divisions.

Marshfield’s boys took over sole possession of first place in the 4A Far West League basketball race with a 55-24 dismantling of South Umpqua Tuesday night in the Pirate Palace at Coos Bay. North Bend beat visiting Brookings-Harbor 39-32, and Siuslaw won at Douglas 47-45. On Friday, Douglas (0-4, 6-11) visits Marshfield (4-0, 16-2), North Bend (2-2, 4-10) is at Siuslaw (1-3, 1-14) and Brookings-Harbor (2-2, 6-11) visits South Umpqua (3-1, 9-8).

Brookings-Harbor, Marshfield and Douglas each got wins in 4A Far West League girls’ basketball Tuesday night. League leader Brookings-Harbor won at North Bend 46-30, Marshfield beat visiting South Umpqua 60-37, and Douglas won at home over Siuslaw 78-33. On Friday, Brookings-Harbor (4-0, 14-4) goes to South Umpqua (0-4, 1-17), Douglas (3-1, 11-5) plays at Marshfield (3-1, 13-6) and North Bend (1-3, 9-6) travels to Siuslaw (1-3, 4-11).
