Oregon’s women open the WNIT with a first round basketball game tonight, 6 p.m., at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. The Pac-12 Ducks (20-10) will host the Big West’s Long Beach State University (24-7).

Oregon State is at the NCAA wrestling championships in New York. Six student/athletes will represent the 22nd-ranked Beavers at this year’s tournament, which begins at 9 a.m. Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The championships run through Saturday. The Beavers finished 30th in 2015, with 11.5 points.

Senior Sammy Harrison of the Oregon State swimming team has qualified for the 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming Championships and will compete from Thursday through Saturday at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga. Harrison is set to compete in three freestyle events this week, including the 500-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle and the 1,650-yard freestyle. Harrison made the cut for each of the 500 and 1,650 and will be eligible for the finals should she swim the necessary times.
