Traffic Stop Drug Arrest Central Coast, March 18

News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On the evening of February 27, 2016, Deputy Eric Larson with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in Waldport after observing the vehicle commit a moving violation. The vehicle slowly pulled into a nearby parking lot and the driver ran from the traffic stop on foot carrying a backpack. Deputy Larson pursued after the driver and apprehended him nearby. The driver was identified as, Joseph D. Vinson, 31 years of age, from Toledo, OR. Vinson showed signs of impairment from a controlled substance. Vinson was subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for an outstanding Parole Warrant, Attempt to Elude (foot) and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. A search warrant was obtained to search the contents of Vinson’s backpack he had in his possession at the time of his initial arrest. During the search of the backpack several items relating to drug trafficking were found inside. This included approximately 11.85 grams of methamphetamine, 9.45 grams heroin, packaging material and a digital scale. On March 16, 2016, Vinson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin and Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin. His bail was set at $680,000.00.
