The Lower Umpqua Flycasters, Fly Fishing Expo 2014, Feb. 21

FREE ADMISSION – The Lower Umpqua Flycasters, a local member Club of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) will be holding their 24th annual Fly Fishing Expo at the Reedsport Community Charter High School Cafeteria, South 22nd Street, Reedsport, OR from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on February 22, 2014. Special features include demonstrations and programs on various aspects of fishing, fly tying and fly casting. There will also be equipment displays, informational displays by various stream and fish enhancement groups, a concession stand with meals and snacks available, and raffle drawings each hour all day. Special programs and speakers include: “Steelhead Fly Fishing” at 10:00 a.m. by Dean Finneity; “Bamboo Rods” by Dan Brock at 11:00 a.m. and “Fly Fishing as a Couple” by Cam and Kendra Parry at 1 p.m. This is the only event of its kind on the south and central Oregon coast. The Expo is totally free to the public as the purpose of the Expo is to promote conservation and introduce the sport of fly fishing to adults and young children.
