On October 26, 2016, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to an residence in the 400-block of Wilene Court in Roseburg for a report of a suspicious fire underneath a residence. Through an investigation, Deputies developed probable cause for the arrest of Monty Dean Pitner, age 41 of Roseburg, who was known to the homeowner. Deputies located Pitner on Saturday, November 19th and arrested him. He was lodged at the Douglas County Jail for Arson I, a Class A Felony. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Douglas County Fire District #2 Fire Marshal.
