Marshfield crowned four individual champions Saturday night at the OSAA State Wrestling Championships at Portland’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum, but the Pirate team came up short of its goal of a state title finishing fourth (157.0) behind Sweet Home (181.0), Crook Co. (180.5) and North Marion (165.0).  Individually for the Pirates, freshman Kody Koumentis won the crown at 106, beating Hunter Mode of Crook Co. 6-3 in the finals; junior AJ Lira won the title at 132 downing Elijah Banister of Baker with a pin (1:08); junior Garrett Lefebvre won the 138 title with a 5-2 decision over Ricky Yunke of Sweet Home; and, junior Travis Wittlake Jr. was the state champion at 170 downing freshman James Ellis, of Banks, 18-5 with a major decision.  Also for the Pirates, sophomore Frankie Harlow placed sixth at 113; junior Willy Jantzer was fifth at 145; senior Cade Hite was fourth at 160.
