Rape Conviction, April 6

A 44-year old Coquille male was convicted on charges of Rape in the First Degree involving an eleven-year old girl following a two-day jury trial in a Coos County Circuit Courtroom at the Coos Co. Courthouse in Coquille that ended April 5.  According to a news release from District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, Frank Wayne Noakes was related to the victim.  He now faces a mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison with no early release for the Rape, Unlawful Sexual Penetration and Sodomy convictions.  “The three sexual abuse charges are subject to Measure 11 and a 75 month mandatory minimum prison sentence.”  Sentencing is scheduled for April 24.
