Unbeaten Marshfield advanced to the championship quarter-final round of the OSAA 4A State Football Championships with a 58-14 First Round win over visiting Estacada Friday night in Coos Bay. The Pirates (9-0) will now host La Grande (8-2), a 25-15 winner over Phoenix, Friday, 7 p.m., on Kent Wigle Field inside of Pete Susick Stadium at MHS. The Far West League’s other entry in the First Round, So. Umpqua, lost at Mazama in Klamath Falls, 12-0. The Lancers finish 6-4. Other teams in the quarter-finals include: Ontario @ Scappoose; Henley @ Mazama; and, Gladstone @ Cottage Grove. The winner of the Marshfield-La Grande game plays the winner of the Ontario-Scappoose game in the championship semi-finals Nov. 18.
