The fields are set for the upcoming OSAA 3A State Basketball Championships in the Bay Area March 1-3. Sixteen teams will be arriving on the South Coast beginning Wednesday to prepare for their shot at a state title. Coquille’s girls got in with a 69-48 win Friday night at home over Warrenton. The Red Devils will open Thursday, 8:15 p.m., against Dayton at North Bend High School. Coquille’s boy’s bid to reach the final eight was denied at Medford Saturday night with Cascade Christian downing the Red Devils 58-49. The boy’s teams will open at Marshfield Thursday, March 1, with Horizon Christian, Tualatin vs. Blanchet Catholic, 1:30 p.m.; Irrigon vs. De La Salle North Catholic, 3:15 p.m.; Oregon Episcopal vs. defending state champion Dayton, 6:30 p.m.; and, Cascade Christian vs. Santiam Christian, 8:15 p.m. Consolation games are set for Friday morning (9am & 10:45am) at NBHS. Championship semi-finals and all finals will take place at MHS Friday afternoon, evening and Saturday. The girl’s opening quarter-final games will take place at NBHS on Thursday, March 1, beginning with Nyssa vs. Salem Academy, 1:30 p.m.; defending state champion Blanchet Catholic vs. Clatskanie, 3:15 p.m.; Creswell vs. Rainier, 6:30 p.m.; Coquille vs. Dayton, 8:15 p.m. Consolation games will be played Friday morning at MHS (8am & 9:45am). All semi-finals and finals will be played at MHS Friday afternoon, evening and Saturday.
