The 35-year old Myrtle Pt. male who barricaded himself in his home Tuesday night, Aug. 21, in a three-hour standoff with police, will be arraigned Thursday morning, Aug. 23, in a Coos Co. Circuit Courtroom at the Courthouse in Coquille. According to a news release from District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, Joseph Michael Hanks will be arraigned on four-counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a Firearm, five-counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and one-count each of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree with a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Police were summoned to Hanks’ residence following a report that he was despondent, had been drinking, and was armed with a rifle.
