Southwestern Oregon sent a few track athletes to the Oregon State High Performance Meet Friday in Corvallis.  Laker results:  WSP 10 Nikki Iaulualo-Puaa 40-06.75; WDIS 17 Nikki Iaulualo-Puaa 133-04; MPV 3 Paul Harlow 15-03; W800 10 Jasmine Meline 2:20.24.  Laker Coach Dan Neal, “Paul Harlow had another outstanding day at the Pole Vault with a jump of 15′ 3″. Harlow placed 3rd in the event  beating all vaulters except Matt Hidlago from the University of Oregon and a unattached  Cole Walsh a former D-1 vaulter from Arizona.”  The Lakers will compete at the Southern Region Championships this week end at Mt Hood CC in Gresham.  SWOCC’s baseball team split an NWAACC baseball doubleheader in Coos Bay Saturday.  The Lakers won the opener 8-7, but dropped the second game 2-0 to the Cougars.  Southwestern (13-10, 18-18) plays at Mt. Hood Friday and at Chemeketa on Saturday.  Southwestern’s softball team dropped two to Clackamas in Oregon City Saturday.  The Cougars won the opener 4-2 and took the nightcap 12-2 in five innings.  The Lakers (7-9, 24-15) host Lower Columbia in the regular season finale Friday in Coos Bay.
