The Depoe Bay Whale Watching Center will close June 1-15 during updates to the building’s interior. The repairs will make it easier to install future exhibits. The closure may extend beyond June 15. Park Manager Patti Green suggests visitors call (541) 265-4560 to check the re-opening date. The Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint interpretive center and gift shop is a great alternate site to spot whales. The current gift shop hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday-Sunday.
