UPDATE: Robbery Investigation Closed, April 24

CBPD release – On Thursday, February 7, 2019, the Coos Bay Police Department investigated an armed robbery that occurred in the Cranberry Sweets parking lot in the Empire district of Coos Bay.  The investigation identified Brandon Bryce Dawson, 26, of Orland, California, as the suspect.  Efforts were made to locate and arrest Dawson, however, it appeared Dawson had fled the Coos Bay area and was hiding-out in the area of Orland, California. UPDATED INFORMATION: On Friday, April 19, 2019, the Coos Bay Police Department was notified by California authorities that Dawson had been reported as a missing person by his family on March 10th, and the subsequent investigation into his disappearance revealed Dawson had been killed after he was involved in a dispute with several subjects regarding illegal drugs.  His murder is under investigation by the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office.   Due to this information, the Coos Bay Police Department will be closing its investigation into Dawson.
