Quakes, Aug. 23

A couple of earthquakes shook the southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast Friday, Aug. 20. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.2-magnitude quake was located west to southwest of Petrolia, CA, and a 2.9-magnitude was recorded west to northwest of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. On Saturday, Aug. 21, a 3.4-magnitude quake was recorded off the Central Oregon Coast west of Depoe Bay and between the two fault lines.
