Adverse Childhood Experiences and Self-regulation and Resilience programs at CBPL, April 19

CBPL release – At 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19th and at 1:00 on Tuesday, May 17th, the Coos Bay Public Library is teaming up with South Coast Together to offer two workshops. The first is on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a follow-up training with Self-regulation and Resilience. The 1998 CDC/Kaizer study of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) led to new understandings of the links between abuse, neglect, and dysfunction in childhood and health outcomes including asthma, lowered immunity, heart disease, and elevated risks of cancer and early death. The program on April 19th, Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities, will focus on ACEs and the effects. On May 17th, Self-Regulation and Resilience explores strategies for self-care and the tools for building resilience. The events will be a hybrid of live and virtual, with limited space available at the library, and virtual attendance via Zoom. The Zoom registration link for the April 19th ACEs training is: https://tinyurl.com/cbpl-aces-zoom The Zoom registration link for the May 17th Self-regulation and Resilience training is: https://tinyurl.com/cbplselfregulation-zoom For those wishing to attend in person, please sign up by going to https://tinyurl.com/cbpl-aces-inperson for the ACEs training on April 19th and https://tinyurl.com/cbplselfregulation-inperson for the Self-regulation and Resilience training on May 17th.
