Southwestern Oregon Community College to offer Adult Foster Care (AFC) training starting April 26, 2014. AFC is basic training for adult foster care providers. This course stresses quality, individualized care including philosophy (capability, choices, dignity, individuality, privacy, home-like setting), how to meet residents’ needs in a community setting, screening for the right fit in home placement, as well as business operations as detailed by Oregon’s AFC regulations.
