On March 20, 2014 shortly after 8:00 pm, the Coos Bay Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in the Timber Park Rural Fire Protection District. The occupants of 63350 East Bay Road were alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm. The home has cedar shake roofing that appears to have ignited by an ember from the wood stove or chimney. Firefighters contained the fire to the roofing material, but the home did sustain some smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
