It is time once again for the Charleston Community Enhancement Annual Fund Raiser: Ahh Shucks! Charleston Oyster Feed, Saturday, April 26 from Noon to 4pm. All who volunteer receive a free meal ticket for oysters or all-beef hot dog dinner and drink. (Desserts and Wine, also drawing prize tickets are purchased separately.) We have the following time slots available: April 25, Friday evening for SET UP: 5:30 to 7:30pm: bread oysters, preparing shrimp cocktail, our sauces, bring in supplies, set up tables- 6 volunteers; April 26, Saturday morning SET UP: 9:30 to 11:30am: • Indoor kitchen-bread oysters, preparing shrimp cocktail, our sauces, cook beans, mix coleslaw, set up bread, cook hot dogs, make coffee, set up beverage/condiments-4 volunteers; • Dining area and outdoor directional signs, put up signs, set tables with table tents, foyer information tables, posters, directional signs at OIMB parking and along Boat Basin Drive-2 volunteers; • Door prize drawing set up raffle cans, put up signs- 2 volunteers; April 26 Event Shifts: 11:30am-1:30 pm – • Play music- 1 band; • Outdoor cooking, shucking, steaming oysters- 2 volunteers; • Indoor cooking, sauteeing, grilling oysters-2 volunteers; • Front line servers, dish out menu items and replenish stock-6 volunteers (5 servers, 1 “runner”; • Dining Area-Bus tables, replenish condiments, beverages, ice, make coffee, bus tables, assist guests to their seats (if needed), clean up spills- 2 volunteers; • Greeter (makes sure guests have answers to questions, and keep ticket line moving smoothly) – 1 volunteer; • Ticket sellers-Take orders, sell tickets, make change -2 volunteers; • Drawing ticket sales-2 volunteers; • Scraping trays for washing/Put away dishes – 1 volunteer; • Dish-washing- 1 volunteer.
