News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 03-21-15 at approximately 2048 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon State Police and the North Bend Police Department, responded to the Sea Port RV Park in Charleston regarding the report of a disturbance involving several subjects at that location. In the initial report, it had been reported that at least one person had been stabbed and another party may have a firearm. Upon arrival Officers discovered one subject, Jordan Jones (21 yoa of Coos Bay), had suffered a minor cut during a fight in the RV park, while a second subject, Jonathan Windhurst (29 yoa of Charleston), had suffered a significant knife wound to his arm and had already been transported to Bay Area Hospital. During the investigation it was discovered that the reported firearm was a pellet pistol made to look like a real handgun. Jones’ injuries were treated at the scene. Windhurst was treated at Bay Area Hospital for a possible severed artery. This incident is still under investigation by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. Arrests are anticipated.
