An older wooden commercial fishing vessel, moving from one slip to another at the Charleston Marina Monday afternoon, Feb. 8, reportedly had a mechanical failure and ended up striking a sailing vessel also mooring at the marina about 2 p.m., before it went down. One male on board escaped; however, his dog could not be found. The U.S. Coast Guard set up a containment boom on the water around the sunken Misty Anne to capture any potential leaking oil or fuel. A salvage operation began immediately.
