News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On September 6, 2014, at about 0027 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 68582 North Bay Road, North Bend in response to a report of Criminal Trespass occurring there. It was reported by the resident, 58 year old Susan Long that a subject known to her was in her house that was not supposed to be there. Upon arriving and investigating the incident, it was learned that the resident’s son, 27 year old Gabriel Long of North Bend had unlawfully entered the residence on North Bay Road with the intent to steal food. He left the area prior to the deputy’s arrival on a motorcycle. A short time later deputies attempted to contact Gabriel Long at his home, a few miles away; he refused to answer the door and barricaded one door to prevent entry. Deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant to enter the residence for the purpose of arresting Gabriel Long. Mr. Long was arrested without incident for Burglary I, Criminal Mischief II, and Theft II. Mr. Long was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked on the above listed chares. Mr. Long, who is on felony probation, was additionally held on a probation violation by his probation officer.
