Burglary & Theft Spree Suspect Arrested, June 3

News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. Between the dates of April 30, 2015 and May 30, 2015, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to several burglary and theft complaints from businesses located in the Yachats, Waldport, Seal Rock, and Depoe Bay areas. On May 30, 2015 at approximately 11:07am, a Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a theft complaint of $100 taken from a business located in the 300 Block of NW Hemlock Street, Waldport, Oregon. Descriptions of two suspects, a male and female, and their associated vehicle were obtained during the investigation. At approximately 12:05pm, the deputy located a female matching the suspect description on Starr Street across from Kendall Field in Waldport. The female, identified as 36 year old Yachats resident Rebecca Emily York, was interviewed and subsequently arrested for theft of money taken from the Waldport business. During contact with York, suspicion was developed regarding her involvement in the business burglaries over the past month. York was subsequently taken into custody for the Theft of money and transported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Crime Reduction Unit met with and interviewed York about the business burglaries. During the interview, York was found to be in possession of stolen property from one or more of the reported burglaries as well as burglars tools used to gain entry into several of the businesses. A subsequent search of York’s residence, located in the 200 Block of W 7th Street, Yachats, Oregon, led to the recovery of multiple stolen items reported from several of the businesses that had been burglarized. York was subsequently lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for the following crimes: Burglary 1st degree – five counts; Burglary 2nd degree – four counts; Attemtped Burglary 2nd degree – two counts; Theft 1st degree – four counts; Theft 2nd degree – four counts; Theft 3rd degree – two counts; Criminal mischief 2nd degree – eight counts; Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle – one count; Possession of burglar’s tools – one count; Possession of Methamphetamine – one count. York’s bail was set at $1,275,000.00 . On June 1, 2015, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective located and interviewed York’s boyfriend, 31 year old Waldport resident Christopher Michael Corcoran regarding the burglary and theft investigations. Corcoran was subsequently arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on the following crimes: Conspiracy to commit Burglary 2nd degree – one count; Conspiracy to commit Theft 2nd degree – one count; Theft 3rd degree (theft by receiving) – one count. Corcoran’s bail was set at $37,500.
