CCSO new Alarm Ordinance, March 18

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to take this opportunity to remind the citizens of Coos County of the new County Alarm ordinance that goes into effect at the end of this month. Beginning April 1, 2016 the Coos County Sheriff will begin charging a registration fee on any residential or business alarms that come in to the Sheriff’s Office. After April 1, 2016 if the Sheriff’s Office responds to any alarm in the unincorporated area of Coos County that does not show a valid registration sticker that business or home owner may be subject to a County Ordinance violation and fine. The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents or businesses that have alarm systems to get them registered before April 1, 2016 free of charge. People can either come into the Sheriff’s Office at the courthouse in Coquille or go on to the County’s webpage and follow the links for Alarms.
