Star of Hope Activity Center, Inc. a nonprofit organization providing services to adults with developmental disabilities announces the appointment of Mr. Jake McMahon as the new Supported Employment Specialist. He is replacing the well-known, energetic, community volunteer, and Bay Area Chamber of Commerce member Pam de Jong, who has accepted a position with Edward Jones. Mr. McMahon comes to Coos Bay, by way of Henderson, Nevada along with his wife and four children. Jake was born and raised in Oregon and is excited about being back home. His education, career background, and life experience uniquely qualify him for the Supported Employment position. Jake reports that he has a passion for helping others to realize their potential and working with Star of Hope would make a perfect fit. The Customized Employment Program Jake will be heading up provides employers with ready to work, pre-screened staff at no cost to the employer, providing on-the-job training at no cost to the employer.
