As the coronavirus continues to spread, Governor Kate Brown announced additional measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus yesterday, which include the restriction that all restaurants, bars, and other like establishments that offer food or beverages for sale be restricted to carry-out and delivery only with no on-site consumption permitted. These measures are intended to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus which has 47 confirmed cases throughout the state and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. While some of the restaurants in the city have drive-up windows, many do not. In an effort to facilitate the continued operations of our local restaurants who wish to provide take out and/or curb side pick-up, the City of Coos Bay Public Works Department will provide temporary traffic control measures in an effort to offer short term parking next to the business. Restaurants wishing to utilize these services should call the Public Works Department at 541-269-8918.
