News release CBFD. May 10, 2017 at 9:45 am, Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire located at 62823 Red Dike Road. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the house to be heavily involved. The fire was under control within a half hour. Crews remained on scene extinguishing hot spots and investigating the cause of the fire until 1:30 pm. The house was not occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported. Coos Bay Fire Department requested mutual aid from North Bend Fire Department and Charleston Fire District. Coos Bay Fire Department was assisted in the investigation by the Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal and the Southwestern Fire Investigation Team.
