News release CCSO.  Between 02/06/2017 and 02/19/2017 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies in Coos County, were involved in the Oregon Safety Belt Campaign.  This campaign is designed to put extra manpower from participating agencies, out on Oregon’s roadways enforcing seat belt and child restraint laws. The Coos county Sheriff’s Office was able to add 4 extra deputies for a total of 24 extra patrol hours to the Sheriff’s Office schedule over this 2 week period.  These deputies made a total of 82 contacts for traffic violations and issued 64 citations for various traffic violations, 9 of those were for safety belt violations.
