News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On May 30, 2014 at about 4:00 pm, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies and Coquille Ambulance personnel responded a residence in the Arago area west of Myrtle Point to a report of an assault there.  Upon arrival police found 32 year old June Hinman had been badly beaten and in need of medical attention.  Ms. Hinman had swelling to the face and bruising over many parts of her body.  She was transported to the Coquille Valley Hospital by Coquille Ambulance where she was treated.  It was reported that 37 year old Eric Coder, her boyfriend of 12 years and the father of two of her children had assaulted her at a home nearby.  The argument was reported to have been a spillover from an argument the previous day and then it got physical.   Eric Coder was last seen by neighbors leaving the residence on foot toward Myrtle Point.  Deputies were able to locate him walking on the highway and arrested him.   He was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was lodged for Assault IV (Domestic) and Strangulation.   Mr. Coder is being held on a bail amount of $20,000.00.
