Domestic Assault
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  “On February 7, 2014, at approximately 1536 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies and Bandon Police were dispatched to 53542 Beach Loop Dr, Bandon, OR, in response to a call reporting an assault.  Deputies contacted 60-year-old Deborah Sims and her 22-year-old adult child Dena Jentes, and found that both had sustained injuries from being hit multiple times in the face.  The suspect, Sims boyfriend of 5 years, 44 year old, Jamison Lee Malone had fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. Ms. Simms was transported to Southern Coos Hospital by Bay Cities Ambulance and Ms. Jentes was taken there by private vehicle.  While Deputies were responding to the area Jamison Malone was located in his vehicle in the parking lot of China Creek Beach Access off Beach Loop Road by Bandon Police Officers.  When Bandon Officers located him and attempted to contact Mr. Malone he was holding a pocket knife to his throat and was threatening to commit suicide.  Sheriff’s Deputies, BLM Law Enforcement Officers and Bandon Police Officers negotiated with Mr. Malone for approximately 30 minutes to where officers were able to make a safe arrest.  Jamison Lee Malone of Bandon was arrested for 2 counts of Assault IV Domestic and was transported to the Coos County Jail without incident where he is being held on $20,000 bail.”

Violation Restraining Order
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  “On February 7, 2014, at approximately 0843 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 63775 Harriet Rd, Coos Bay, OR, in response to an anonymous call reporting a potential restraining order violation.  Upon arrival at the residence Deputies contacted 28-year-old Jesse Alan Smisek of Coos Bay and identified that he was the respondent of the valid restraining order which prohibited him from being at the residence and around the petitioner, 57 year old, Pamela Smisek.  Jesse Smisek was arrested for the violation and was transported to the Coos County Jail without incident where he is being held on $7,500 bail.”

Quad Theft
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  “On January 29, 2014, at approximately 1310 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a call about a stolen quad 4 wheeler from a residence on West Fork Millicoma Rd, Coos Bay. During the investigation Deputies discovered the 2003 Honda quad and a cell phone had been stolen during the night, suspects were identified and the property was located and returned to the owner.  As a result of the investigation, on February 7, 2014, at approximately 1125 hours Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies went to Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, OR and arrested 18 year old Thaddeus Nelson, a student there for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, and Theft II.  Thaddeus Nelson was transported to Coos County Jail without incident. The incident is still under investigation and further arrests are anticipated.”
