North Bend’s track team swept the team races at the 113th Coos Co. Track Meet Saturday on Prefontaine Track inside Pete Susick Stadium, Coos Bay. Marshfield was second to the Bulldogs and Bandon third in both team races. Myrtle Pt. was fourth in the boy’s followed by Coquille, while the Red Devil girls were fourth, followed by Myrtle Pt. and Powers. Individually, North Bend sprinters Jason Padget, a freshman, and sophomore Celeste Le led the way by capturing both the 100 & 200 races. They also ran legs on the winning Bulldog relay teams. Bandon’s boys won the 1600R. Bulldog freshman Lennon Riddle won the girl’s pole vault (10-0), 400 (1:05.43) and was part of the winning short relay team (53.71). Senior Randee Cunningham took both the Long Jump (15-08) and the Triple Jump (33-08.5). North Bend Junior Roman Fritz won both Shot Put (43-03.5) and Javelin (184-10). The Pirates got wins out of senior Sam Grayson in the High Jump (5-08), freshman Trent Summers in the Pole Vault (14-04), Long Jump with freshman Jonathan Parks (20-00), 800 with Ismael Rodriquez (2:08.98) and 400 with senior Aaron Hutchins (54.70). For the Marshfield girls, junior Charlie Dea won the 300H, senior Mira Matthews won the Discus (114-04), and junior Aryana Mill won the High Jump (4-10). Marshfield goes to the District 4 Championships Friday and Saturday at Siuslaw, Florence. North Bend has a 5A Invitational at Wilsonville May 21 & 22.
