Coquille River Flooding, Dec. 22

The National Weather Service has updated the river forecast yet again, and the news has worsened. Major flooding is now forecast for the Coquille River at Coquille. Major flooding has been observed in Myrtle Point, but those rivers have now crested and water levels will recede. The river is forecasted to crest at 5 am on Monday morning, and recede after that. It is likely that there will be some damage from this level of flooding. I just received a call from the forecasters at the Medford office affirming this information. As of this time, I have not received word of significant problems. There is still a ways to go for water level rises on the Coquille River at Coquille before the waters will recede.
