Two people are in custody and a third was transported to the hospital in Gold Beach following a stabbing at a campsite on the Chetco River, near Brookings, Sunday, Feb. 2. Thirty-two year old Frank Howard, a transient, had been traveling with a couple, also transients, from Crescent City, CA, when an argument turned physical at a campsite and Howard was stabbed. He was found by another individual with a wound to his back. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Gold Beach. Twenty-seven year old Maria Delcristo and 23-year old Angel Grant-Raines were found camping at Harris Beach State Park and taken into custody. They were lodged in the Curry Co. Jail at Gold Beach. The investigation is continuing.
