CBPD release – On Tuesday July 9, 2019 three anonymous juvenile females came to the Coos Bay Police Department to make a report regarding a juvenile party in the Empire District of Coos Bay. The juveniles reported that the party had occurred the night before. The females advised that during the party a six-teen year old female was sold illegal drugs by an adult who was also at the party. The anonymous females said that the sixteen-year-old female was eventually transported by private vehicle, to the Bay Area Hospital for medical treatment of a serious drug overdose. The female was admitted in the Bay Area Hospital for several days while she continued to receive medical treatment for the over dose. The Coos Bay Police Department with the assistance of the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team conducted an extensive investigation. Subsequent to the investigation, a nineteen-year-old Coos Bay resident, identified as, Dakota Mollett, was arrested and charged with the distribution of a controlled substance to a minor and reckless endangering another person. Dakota Mollett was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was lodged on the above charges. Further details of the case are still under investigation.
