The public and their four-legged friends are invited to attend Dog Days at the New River Area of Critical Environmental Concern on Saturday, August 16 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will include a fun-filled afternoon of dog-themed activities, including a puppy parade hike with a Bureau of Land Management naturalist. Visitors will also get a chance to meet Neeko, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office K-9. The New River Area of Critical Environmental Concern is located south of Bandon, Oregon, off of Highway 101. Take Highway 101 south 8.5 miles to Croft Road. Coming from the south, Croft Road is 4.5 miles north of Langlois, Oregon. Follow Croft Road 1.5 miles to the west.
